The returns are coming back: Here is the list of products sent back to Turkey from Europe!

Food quality in Turkey continues to spark debate. The detection of substances that threaten human health in food products sent by Turkey to Europe has caused a crisis.

Most recently, it was stated that high levels of aflatoxin and ochratoxin were found in dried figs sent to Italy and Sweden.

9 TIMES THE LIMIT OF AFLATOXIN IN PISTACHIOS

In pistachios sent to Italy, it was determined that the amount of aflatoxin, known to increase the risk of liver cancer, was 7 to 9 times above the permitted level. This led to the products being stopped at the border and returned.

DANGER IN APRICOTS

In apricots attempted to be exported to the Netherlands, 35 times the permitted level of ochratoxin was detected. The European Union's Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) declared these products dangerous and rejected them.

DRIED FIG CRISIS

It was announced that the ochratoxin level in dried figs sent from Turkey to Italy was exactly 23 times the limit. Following the return of the products, concerns are being raised that they may be offered for sale in the domestic market.

PRICE DROP RAISES SUSPICION

In recent months, allegations that pistachios, which could not be exported to Dubai due to aflatoxin, were released into the domestic market led to a price drop of up to 30 percent. Similarly, the lack of an official statement regarding the fate of the dried figs returned from Sweden and Italy is increasing consumer concerns.
