Leech removed from six-year-old child's throat
In the Baykan district of Siirt, a leech was removed from the throat of a 6-year-old child who was taken to the hospital by their family after falling ill following drinking water from a fountain.
According to the information obtained, 6-year-old M.E. drank water from a fountain about 10 days ago.
After some time passed, the child began to feel unwell. When his family checked his throat and noticed a leech, they took the child to Siirt Training and Research Hospital.
The leech in the child's throat was removed through an intervention performed by medical teams there.
While the size of the leech removed from the throat drew attention, it was learned that the child's health condition is good.
