A new development has occurred regarding the Narin Güran case, which has captured the attention of all of Turkey. The Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court, in the Narin Güran murder trial, rejected the requests for "taking a dental impression of the detained defendant Enes Güran to obtain an additional report on whether the bite marks on his body belong to him" and "requesting a scientific opinion from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Endocrinology as a board regarding the PSA detected on Narin Güran's clothing" on the grounds that they "would not add anything new to the file."
Within the scope of the case opened as a result of the investigation initiated by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the murder of Narin Güran, the lawyers for the parties submitted requests for an expansion of the investigation.
Defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar's lawyer, Ali Eryılmaz, submitted a total of 14 requests to the court on November 22. Regarding the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) enzyme found in the semen and urine detected on Narin Güran's clothing, he requested "a scientific opinion from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Endocrinology as a board on whether it is found in men and women, if so, from which organ or body system it can be secreted, whether it is possible for said enzyme to be found in the victim's vagina under normal conditions considering the victim was 8 years old, and at what age the production of this enzyme begins in male and female individuals."
Considering the action cited by defendant Enes Güran as the cause of the bite marks on his body, he requested "taking a dental impression of Enes Güran and having the Forensic Medicine Institute 2nd Specialization Board conduct a quantitative analysis to obtain an additional report on whether the bite marks belong to Enes Güran."
The Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court reviewed the requests on November 29. In its additional decision, the court rejected all requests on the grounds that they "would not add anything new to the file."
