New development in the Narin Güran murder case! 'Take the blame' statement added to the file

In the murder of Narin Güran, who was made to appear as if she had gone missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8, the detained uncle Salim, mother Yüksel, and brother Enes Güran, along with their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, are being tried for "intentional killing of a child in complicity," facing life imprisonment with aggravated circumstances.

Nevzat Bahtiyar's son, İbrahim Bahtiyar, filed a petition with the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on November 11, alleging that "the Güran family, through Hasan K., requested that his father take the blame in exchange for a house and the transfer of a vehicle belonging to his uncle, but registered under the Güran family's name."

Bahtiyar also submitted to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office an audio recording of a phone conversation he had with Hasan K. regarding this allegation.

Following this, the audio recording was transcribed and a report was prepared.

Regarding the allegations, the Provincial Gendarmerie Command took the statements of Hasan K. (65) and Ali Rıza Güran (65), the uncle of the detained defendant Salim Güran, as "suspects" on November 28-29, while the statements of Nevzat Bahtiyar's wife Gazal (46), his sons İbrahim (20) and Ferhat Bahtiyar (24), and his daughter Fadile N. (27) were taken for "information" purposes.

PHONE CONVERSATION RECORDS

The phone conversation, which began with Hasan K. claiming that Ali Rıza Güran said, "If he says 'I did it,' we would bring their houses, we would give Gazal's house to Gazal. Can you tell them? I cannot tell them," continued as follows:

Gazal Bahtiyar: "You should have said, 'You have a fool in front of you.' Let them do it, pin it on him, give the house to Gazal. I would sacrifice him for Nevzat. Would I be swayed by worldly goods? They demolished Nevzat's house, they set fire to his house."

Hasan K: "I said the children told me, 'Let them transfer the title of our car to us.' (The Güran family) The younger brother said, 'Okay, the car title is not an issue. We will give it when the time comes.'"

Gazal Bahtiyar: "They killed her themselves, they killed their daughter and put it on ours. Then they send an offer"

Hasan K: "They told me, and I said I would tell them."

Gazal Bahtiyar: "Tell them to watch their step, don't let them say words to me, uncle. They have left this poor man to rot in prison."

Hasan K: "What can I say, may God not let your rights go unavenged."

Gazal Bahtiyar: "Amen. This poor man had no idea about anything, uncle, I was at home. He came, ate his meal, left, watered his trees, he called him, whatever he did, he blamed it"
on him."

Hasan K: "The crime is his, Nevzat deserves death. Why did Nevzat take the bodies and hide them? He should have said, 'Why should I hide them?'"

Gazal Bahtiyar: "They threatened him, uncle; would he have gone if they hadn't threatened him?"

Hasan K: "When he went; when his first week was over, when he was arrested, if he had gone and said, 'They forced me to do it,' he wouldn't have gone to prison."

Gazal Bahtiyar: "Don't let Hacı Rıza (Ali Rıza Güran) send their offers."

Hasan K: "If they send word, you just say 'no'."

İbrahim Bahtiyar (son of Nevzat Bahtiyar): "Uncle, you tell them, whatever the state says, that is it. Weren't they the ones saying whatever the state says, that is it? The state will uncover it."

Hasan K: "Whoever it is, the state will uncover it. I am between the houses, people are around me, I cannot talk much."

STATEMENTS OF 6 PEOPLE TAKEN REGARDING THE ALLEGATIONS

Nevzat Bahtiyar's son, İbrahim Bahtiyar, stated in his testimony to the gendarmerie that his sister, Fadile N., came to his brother Ferhat's house on October 27.

Bahtiyar stated that his sister, Fadile N., said in the room where he and his mother were present: "Ali Rıza Güran called Hasan K. to his side and said, 'Nevzat already killed Narin, let him accept the crime, let his children come to their house in the village, we will look after them again, we will take care of them. Let Nevzat take the blame, let our children be released, and you go and convey this to Gazal and her children.'" alleged that he told him this.

Stating that Hasan K. first conveyed this to his aunt Gülbahar K., and that Gülbahar K. then told her sister Fadile N. about the matter over the phone, Bahtiyar noted the following:

"When they relayed this that day, before Fadile left us, at 19:07, we called Hasan K.'s mobile phone from the GSM line used by my brother Hakim Bahtiyar. I put the phone on speaker so that those present in the room could hear. My mother Gazal started speaking. After asking how he was, she asked if there had been a money offer. He told us, 'Ali Rıza Güran called me today and summoned me to the village. I went to the village and met with Ali Rıza. He made me an offer, saying, 'Nevzat already killed her, everything is clear, it's obvious. Let him accept the blame. Let his children come back to the house in the village, we will look after them, we will take care of them if necessary.' My mother Gazal said, 'Are they going to trick me with a house? They ruined my husband's life, let them go and rot in prison, let my husband get out. They should definitely not make such an offer to us. Is Ali Rıza offering us a house? We do not accept it.' Hasan K. then said, 'I am reporting to you what was conveyed to me.' Then I started speaking. I said, 'There is a court case. The state will reveal everything.'"

Nevzat Bahtiyar's son, Ferhat Bahtiyar, also claimed in his statement that Hasan K. conveyed to them the offer from Ali Rıza Güran, "Let them return to the village, we will give them their house too, and we will meet whatever material and moral needs they have. Let Nevzat take the blame for this incident, he did it anyway." he alleged.

Nevzat Bahtiyar's daughter, Fadile N., stated that on October 27, around 18:00, her aunt Gülbahar K. called her via WhatsApp, and that Hasan K. said, "I couldn't bear it, let me call them, you tell them." claiming that he conveyed Ali Rıza Güran's offer by saying so.

Fadile N., to Hasan K.'s aunt, "Ali Rıza Güran called me to his house. 'Nevzat committed this act. Our family has been disgraced. Let Nevzat take the blame. His children can return home, we will look after them, we will meet whatever needs they have.' claiming that he said this, she stated that after her aunt told her this, she went to the house where her mother and siblings lived and explained the situation to them.

Nevzat Bahtiyar's wife, Gazal Bahtiyar, also stated in her testimony that her daughter Fadile N. came to their house and mentioned that an offer had been made to them through Hasan K., saying the following:

"We called Hasan K. and asked if such an offer existed. Hasan K. said that Ali Rıza Güran had called him to Tavşantepe Neighborhood and said, 'Go tell his family to let Nevzat take the blame. We will bring his family back to the village. We will meet all their needs. Let this incident be closed.' I said that I would never accept such an offer, that I did not believe Nevzat killed Narin, that I would not be swayed by money, that I would not trade Nevzat for the world, and that he should never make such an offer again."

Hasan K., whose statement was taken as a suspect, stated that the wives of Nevzat Bahtiyar and Salim Güran were from their village and that they were related to them.

Stating that Ali Rıza Güran and Hüseyin Güran were his peers and that he knew them, Hasan K. said he was in Yalova when Narin went missing.

Stating that he learned Narin's body had been found while he was there and subsequently returned to Diyarbakır from Yalova, Hasan K. noted the following:

"They were sitting as a family in front of Hüseyin Güran's house. I sat next to Ali Rıza Güran. Ali Rıza said, 'If one of ours did this, may God damn them.' Then Ali Rıza asked me, 'Who do you think did this?' I said, 'The state has stepped in and will find out, but my guess is that Enes did this, and Salim got into trouble while cleaning it up.' As Ali Rıza was seeing me off, he said to me, 'Nevzat's wife and Salim's wife are both your nieces. Tell Nevzat that if he did it, he should say he did it. Tell his children and his wife to come to their homes; we will not interfere with them. We will look after them, help them, and do them no harm.' Later, I returned to Batıkarakoç neighborhood. I saw Gülbahar K. there. I told her what Ali Rıza Güran had relayed. I said, 'I won't tell this to Gazal; if you want to tell her, you tell her.' That same evening, Gazal called me from her son's phone and spoke as if to say, 'I don't accept land or a house. How could Ali Rıza say such a thing?' I told Gazal what I had told Gülbahar. When I then said, 'Don't lie, the man didn't say anything about land or a house,' her son İbrahim said, 'Uncle, we will report you to the prosecutor's office, you will be listed as a witness.' I said, 'I don't lie. Don't bother me with the prosecutor's office.'"

Ali Rıza GÜRAN DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS

Ali Rıza Güran, who gave a statement as a suspect, claimed that after "baseless allegations and news reports emerged in the media that Salim Güran had an affair with the wives of Arif and Hüseyin Güran," Hüseyin Güran told him, "They are attacking our honor. Go tell Nevzat's wife not to bring up this issue and disgrace us further."

Stating that he wanted to speak with M.K., the uncle of Gazal Bahtiyar, but could not reach him on his mobile phone, Güran said he called his relative Hasan K. and stated the following:

"I told Hasan K., 'My request from you is to go and tell them not to bring up our honor again and to put this issue to rest.' Other than that, no other subject regarding the incident was discussed. Then Hasan K. said to me, 'I have a request from you. Nevzat Bahtiyar's brother bought a vehicle from your nephew İ. Güran but could not get the title transferred. I request your help regarding the transfer.' I said, 'Your request is my command, but what you are asking for can happen at a later time.' The conversation ended this way. Other than this, I absolutely reject the allegations made. A few days later, when we saw the baseless claims regarding this on social media and national media, we filed a criminal complaint with the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office."
