Tips for making pickles for winter...

Pickles are one of the indispensable habits of our culinary culture... We can also view them as a type of preservation method we turn to every autumn and winter to consume the fruits and vegetables we love throughout the year. It is possible to define a pickle simply as a vegetable or fruit that has been salted and left to soak in vinegar or lemon juice. Here are the tips that will make it easier for you to make pickles in all its details...

TIPS FOR MAKING PICKLES!

Make sure the vegetables and fruits you use for pickles are fresh, free of rot, and of roughly the same size.

When making pickles, you can add vinegar, garlic, celery leaves, parsley, mint, bay leaves, dill, lemon, chickpeas, unripe grapes, vine shoots, bread yeast, and sugar to the brine for flavor and aroma.

Prefer glass containers over plastic ones when making pickles.

Since there may be overflow during the fermentation stage after setting up the pickles, place your pickle jar inside another container.

A temperature of around 20-22 degrees is suitable for the pickles to mature. Higher temperatures can cause the vegetables to swell and soften.

After preparing your pickles, close the lid of the jar tightly and leave it in a cool place to mature.

When foaming begins during the maturation stage of your pickles, remove this foam with a spoon. Then, pour the brine into a container to aerate it and pour it back into the jar. Repeat this process for 3-4 days. If the brine decreases, add more to it.

If the vegetables and fruits inside your pickles have turned yellow and their taste and smell have changed, they are ready to eat.
