Tips to make your life easier when making Bosnian burek

Bosnian burek, which features on both Bosnian and Turkish tables, has recently increased in popularity.

We have compiled the ingredients used in preparing Bosnian burek and the tips that will make your work easier for you.

BOSNIAN BUREK INGREDIENTS

For the dough:

1 kg flour

1 tablespoon salt

3 cups warm water

For the filling:

500 grams lean ground meat

3 onions

Vegetable oil

Black pepper

Salt

For rolling out:

2 tablespoons butter

1 tea glass vegetable oil

HOW TO MAKE BOSNIAN BUREK?

-Mix the flour and salt in a mixing bowl.

-Add warm water, knead well, and obtain a smooth dough.

-Cover it with a cloth and let the dough rest for half an hour.

-Meanwhile, prepare the filling for the burek.

-Finely chop the onions.

-Sauté the ground meat in a little oil.

-Add the onions to the meat and continue sautéing.

-Add black pepper and salt, then turn off the heat and let it cool.

-Knead your rested dough again and divide it into 2 equal pieces.

-Let the dough balls rest for another 10 minutes.

Melt the butter, add the vegetable oil to it, and mix.

Roll out one of the dough balls slightly with a rolling pin.

Spread the melted oil over the dough and stretch the dough with your hands as much as you can.

Spread half of the filling over the dough and carefully roll it up.

Grease the tray and coil the dough from the center outwards.

Repeat the same process for the second piece of dough.

Spread the remaining oil over the dough.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Then take it out and serve hot.
