65 people arrested in FETÖ operation, including active-duty soldiers
Out of 95 people detained as part of an investigation into FETÖ in Istanbul, 65 have been arrested. Among those arrested are active-duty soldiers.
The investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into FETÖ members who have infiltrated the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and have not yet been fully identified is ongoing.
In this context, the procedures at the Istanbul Police Department for 95 suspects detained in an operation conducted across 31 provinces, centered in Istanbul, have been completed.
After undergoing health checks, the suspects were brought to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
The suspects, whose statements were taken at the prosecutor's office, were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace. The court ordered the arrest of 65 of the suspects, including Colonel K.K.
The criminal judgeship of peace decided to impose judicial control measures on 2 suspects, including "house arrest," and on 28 suspects, including a "travel ban" and a "reporting requirement."
As part of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 95 suspects were apprehended in an operation centered in Istanbul and spanning 31 provinces. The operation targeted a total of 108 suspects, including 10 colonels, 15 lieutenant colonels, 43 majors, 27 captains, and 5 lieutenants currently serving in various force commands, as well as 8 suspects who had been dismissed from the TSK for various reasons (resigned, expelled, retired, etc.).
It was learned that efforts to apprehend the remaining 13 suspects are being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense.
