Aziz İhsan Aktaş trial continues on its fourth day

A new phase has begun today in the widely followed case involving allegations that municipal tenders were manipulated through bribery. The fourth day of the trial for a total of 200 defendants, including Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who is accused of being the leader of a criminal organization, as well as 7 mayors, began in the morning hours. Of the defendants, 33 are still being tried while in custody.

In the case heard at the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court, the trial was moved to the specially prepared courtroom number 1 opposite the Marmara Closed Penal Institution due to the inadequacy of the original courtroom. The hearing was attended by detained and non-detained defendants, including the dismissed Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin, Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar, Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar, and Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, along with their lawyers.
