New details have emerged in the investigation regarding the knife attack that took place at Kayaşehir Şeyh Şamil İmam Hatip Secondary School in Istanbul's Başakşehir district. 10-year-old Eslem Sare Bulut lost her life in the attack, and 7 students aged between 10 and 13 were injured.
Following the incident, the 15-year-old suspect, F.M., was apprehended, and her mother and father were also taken into custody. It was reported that the mother and father were subsequently arrested.
BULLYING ALLEGATION IN MOTHER'S STATEMENT
According to reports by Gloob, the suspect's mother claimed that her daughter carried out the attack because she was being "bullied for being ugly." The mother stated that her daughter had been admitted to a Science High School, had a school average of 96, and had transferred to an Anatolian High School because her school was far from their home.
According to information reflected in the investigation, it is believed that the suspect had been planning the attack for a long time via Telegram groups. It was also stated that the knife was brought to school in the student's backpack.

It was also reported that in her statement, the mother mentioned that her daughter had talked about wanting to do something so that "Turkey and the world would hear about her." The family said they had reported this situation regarding the child to the responsible teachers at her school.
The funeral of Eslem Sare Bulut, who lost her life in the attack, was held in Bartın. The process regarding the injured students and the judicial investigation are ongoing.
