Breaking News... Mansur Yavaş's statement on the İmamoğlu case: Demand for live broadcast

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş made important assessments regarding the judicial processes on the agenda in a written statement shared on his social media account.

Expressing that he is following the recent developments with serious concern and deep sadness, Yavaş pointed out that the credibility of the judiciary in the eyes of the public can only be ensured through transparency.

Pointing to the ongoing legal processes of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and the mayors currently in prison, Yavaş argued that the course of these trials should be clearly shown to the public. Yavaş included the following views in his statement:

“I believe that judicial processes should be conducted in the public eye. I believe that the live broadcasting of the trials of Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu and our imprisoned mayors on all television channels, especially TRT, will strengthen society's trust in justice.”
