Kılıçdaroğlu's assessment of the Court of Cassation and Can Atalay ruling
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu evaluated the Court of Cassation's decision regarding the rights violation of Can Atalay in a statement made on his social media account.
The 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation did not comply with the second violation ruling issued by the Constitutional Court regarding imprisoned TİP deputy Can Atalay, stating that the ruling had no legal value. Reactions to this decision have come one after another.
Evaluating the events as a 'violation of rights,' Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made the following statement on his social media account:
"The Court of Cassation's refusal once again to comply with the Constitutional Court's ruling on rights violations regarding Hatay Deputy Can Atalay, by stating it has 'no legal value,' is proof that the political authority manages the judiciary and that we can no longer speak of law in our country.
The fact that members of the Court of Cassation deemed a plagiarist judge, who has no signature on any ruling, worthy of Constitutional Court membership was already a harbinger of these days... Unfortunately, it is no longer the rules of law that exist in our country, but Palace laws similar to the law of the jungle!"
