Mehmet Uçum responds to allegations following Can Holding operation: 'Intent to cause harm'

A large-scale operation was conducted against Can Holding, and a trustee was appointed to manage the holding.

Within the scope of this operation, detention warrants were issued for Mehmet Şakir Can, Kemal Can, and Kenan Tekdağ.

Following the operation, an insinuating social media post by AKP member Şamil Tayyar drew attention, while various allegations were also raised regarding Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum.

Mehmet Uçum released a press statement following these developments.

In the statement made by his lawyer Zeynep Yıldırım, it was stated that news reports regarding the operation cast suspicion on Mehmet Uçum and other presidential chief advisors. The statement emphasized that legal proceedings will be initiated against news reports and comments that constitute attacks on Uçum's personal rights.

The statement included the following remarks: "In the news reports regarding the companies within the scope of the investigation initiated by the prosecutor's office, all presidential chief advisors, including my client Mehmet Uçum, are being cast under suspicion.

Posts containing slander against my client are being made with the intent to harm his public office, and legal channels will be pursued to ensure that those who make these posts are punished in the most severe manner."

Mehmet Uçum also shared the statement made by his lawyer with the public via his social media account.
