Famous singer Demet Akalın was a guest on the program titled 'Bunu Konuşalım' (Let's Talk About This).
Akalın made striking remarks about the Dilan Polat-Engin Polat couple, who were arrested on charges of money laundering, tax evasion, and illegal betting.
'IF I WERE INVOLVED, THINGS WOULD ESCALATE'
Akalın stated, "When I was in contact with them, Engin used to beat her. Her arms were always bruised. She was being beaten, and one day she came to me. I had a close friend named Ece. I said, 'I shouldn't take you to the police station, you take her. If I were involved, things would go to other places and grow. Let it not become a media spectacle.'"
'IN LOVE WITH HER KILLER...'
Continuing her remarks, the famous singer said, "Yesterday, a lady appeared on '2. Sayfa', a childhood friend. She said, 'She was very much in love with Engin' and so on. That is a different syndrome, being in love with one's killer... I had seen her suffering and I was very sad at the time... Even just knowing what the man you love so much has done and that he has dragged you into such a world without your knowledge... Even if it happened to me, I would be very angry."
