Efe Önbilgin files for custody against Deniz Akkaya

Businessman Efe Önbilgin, who previously obtained a one-month restraining order against Deniz Akkaya, has now filed a lawsuit to be granted custody of their child. Önbilgin alleges that Deniz Akkaya is abusing her custody rights for her own personal interests, thereby endangering their daughter's psychological and physical well-being.

Efe Önbilgin files for custody against Deniz Akkaya

Efe Önbilgin, claiming that Deniz Akkaya has been making baseless accusations about him and their daughter on social media and causing public humiliation, had applied to the Family Court the other day to obtain a one-month restraining order.

Following this decision, Efe Önbilgin has now filed a 'change of custody' lawsuit against Deniz Akkaya, alleging that she has abused her custody rights.

The petition filed with the Istanbul Family Court stated the following in summary:

"Deniz Akkaya has, through deliberate actions, prevented Efe Önbilgin, who lives abroad due to his profession, from communicating with his daughter even through communication tools. Despite Akkaya's obstructions, Efe Önbilgin has met with his child in England and France. Akkaya constantly tells her daughter that she is restricting her own private life and, for this reason, frequently sends her daughter to the home of her elderly and ill grandfather.

Deniz Akkaya has lost her senses to the point of saying, 'I handed her over to child protective services just to teach her a lesson.' We have also received reports that Deniz Akkaya has been using narcotics for many years. We request that Akkaya be referred to the Council of Forensic Medicine to determine whether she uses drugs."

'READY TO COME TO TURKEY AND TAKE HIS DAUGHTER'

According to the report in Hürriyet, the lawsuit petition also emphasized that Efe Önbilgin is ready to take custody of his daughter:

"Deniz Akkaya, who has openly stated that caring for the child is a heavy burden and has constantly prevented Efe Önbilgin from fulfilling his paternal duties, has abused her custody role. Efe Önbilgin, who has a very comfortable life in London, is ready to dedicate all material and moral support to his daughter. Due to Akkaya's actions that disregard the child's best interests and clearly harm her, we request that custody be granted to Efe Önbilgin, who is ready to come to Turkey in person to take her."
