Social media influencers Nihal and Bahar Candan, sisters known for a fashion competition program on television, were arrested and sent to prison on November 16, 2023, on charges of 'money laundering' and 'membership in a criminal organization'.

Following the release of her older sister Nihal Candan due to health issues, Bahar Candan harmed herself and was hospitalized.

Candan was taken back to prison today after her treatment was completed.

INDICTMENT PREPARED

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Küçükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an indictment was prepared against 22 suspects, including Alisya Bahar Candan and her older sister Gülnihal Çiçek, known to the public as "Nihal Candan", for "membership in a criminal organization", "fraud", and other various crimes.

FACING UP TO 44 YEARS IN PRISON

The indictment requests that Alisya Bahar Candan be sentenced to between 14 and 44 years in prison for "membership in a criminal organization" and "fraud", and that Gülnihal Çiçek be sentenced to between 8 and 24 years in prison.

WHY DID BAHAR CANDAN GO TO PRISON?

The sisters Bahar and Nihal Candan, who became famous for their luxurious lifestyles and social media posts, were arrested in November 2023.

It is alleged that the sisters, who are accused of fraud and money laundering, promised to sell vehicles below market value through a fictitious "Chief Veysel" scheme, and after collecting the money, failed to deliver either the vehicles or the funds, using excuses such as "there was a problem with the tender, it has been postponed".
