Fans of Michael Culver, who died at the age of 85, took to social media as soon as they heard the news to shower praise on the master actor's talent.

'HE HAD A DISTINGUISHED CAREER'

In a statement, the artist's agent said, "We are deeply saddened to confirm the passing of our friend and client Michael Culver. He had a distinguished career spanning over 50 years, with notable roles in Sherlock Holmes, A Passage to India, Secret Army, and of course, one of the most memorable death scenes in the Star Wars series."

The veteran actor had largely retired from acting in the early 2000s to focus his efforts on political activism.

It was reported that Culver passed away on February 27 following a long battle with health issues.

WHO IS MICHAEL CULVER?

Michael John Edward Culver was born on June 16, 1938, in Hampstead, London, as the son of actor Roland Culver and casting director Daphne Rye. He was educated at Gresham's School.

Culver died on February 27, 2024, at the age of 85.
