Statement from Aliye Uzunatağan on Settar Tanrıöğen: 'His treatment is ongoing'

Settar Tanrıöğen, one of the lead actors of Kızılcık Şerbeti, which airs on Show TV, has undergone two surgeries due to a brain hemorrhage.

Speaking to members of the press at a shopping mall the other day, the show's veteran actress Aliye Uzunatağan said that they would wait for her co-star Tanrıöğen, whose treatment continues in intensive care, and that changes were being made to the script.

'WE WILL WAIT FOR SETTAR'S RETURN'

Uzunatağan, who was seen in Nişantaşı with her actress daughter Ayşecan Tatari, said regarding the health status of her co-star Settar Tanrıöğen: "We are very sad, very. He is still in intensive care... We will wait for Settar's return. There will be changes to the script."

'HEMORRHAGE HAS BEEN DETECTED'

Dr. Engin Çakmakçı, Chief Physician at Acıbadem Ataşehir Hospital, provided the following information regarding the health status of the artist Settar Tanrıöğen, whose treatment for an aneurysm hemorrhage in his brain vessels is ongoing:

"On Friday, January 26, 2024, following medical evaluations conducted due to complaints of headache and confusion, it was determined that our patient, Settar Tanrıöğen, had experienced a hemorrhage between the brain and the meninges as a result of the rupture of an aneurysm (ballooning) in his brain vessels.

Following an emergency intervention performed by interventional neuroradiology specialist Prof. Dr. Hatem Hakan Selçuk and his team, our patient was admitted to the intensive care unit. On Sunday, January 29, 2024, an increase in cerebrospinal fluid, which can potentially develop due to the hemorrhage in the brain, was detected in our patient, and an interventional procedure was performed by our neurosurgery team to balance the fluid pressure.

Our patient's treatment is being continued by a multidisciplinary team consisting of neurology, neurosurgery, and interventional neuroradiology specialists, as well as the intensive care unit head Prof. Dr. İsmail Cinel and his team. As of today, his clinical condition is stable. Due to the presence of risks that may arise after such brain hemorrhages, our patient Settar Tanrıöğen will continue to be closely monitored in our intensive care unit for some time."

WHO IS SETTAR TANRIÖĞEN?

Settar Tanrıöğen was born on October 22, 1960, in the Merkezefendi district of Denizli.

A graduate of Hacettepe University's Department of Archaeology and Art History, Settar Tanrıöğen became known for his character 'Saldıray Abi' in the 90s show 'Bir Demet Tiyatro', which also featured Yılmaz Erdoğan, Demet Akbağ, Erdal Tosun, Zerrin Sümer, Serhat Özcan, and Erdoğan Dikmen.

In 2009, Settar Tanrıöğen starred in the film 'Vavien' alongside Binnur Kaya, Engin Günaydın, Ercan Kesal, İlker Aksum, and Serra Yılmaz, and won the Best Supporting Actor award at the SİYAD Turkish Cinema Awards for his role as Cemal.

In 2010, he starred in the film 'Gölgeler ve Suretler' (Shadows and Faces), written and directed by Derviş Zaim, which deals with the issues between Greek and Turkish Cypriots, alongside Buğra Gülsoy, Hazar Ergüçlü, and Osman Alkaş. He won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2011 Ankara Film Festival for his role as Cevdet.

In 2015, he played the role of Cengiz in the film 'Saklı' (Hidden), written and directed by Selim Evci, alongside İlhan Şeşen, Türkü Turan, Pelin Akil, Şehnaz Bölen, and Ümit Çırak.

In 2015, he played the lead role in the comedy film 'Hayalet Dayı' (Ghost Uncle), directed by Ali Yorgancıoğlu.

Settar Tanrıöğen portrayed the character Salih Çelik in the series 'Baba Candır' between 2015 and 2017. He is currently portraying the character Abdullah in the series 'Kızılcık Şerbeti'.
