Statement from Dilan Polat's lawyer Hüseyin Kara: 'Her mental state is not good'
Hüseyin Kara, the lawyer for Engin and Dilan Polat, who were arrested on charges of money laundering, stated that Dilan Polat, who has been in prison for weeks, is not in a good mental state. Kara said, "She cries while calling out for her son. She repeats the sentences her son said to her. I do not find her mental state to be healthy."
Lawyer Hüseyin Kara, representing the couple Dilan Polat and Engin Polat—who drew attention with their luxurious lifestyle and were arrested and sent to prison on November 5 following an investigation into money laundering and tax evasion—has made new statements.
'THERE IS NO ORGANIZED CRIME CHARGE'
Stating that according to the MASAK report, 90 percent of the couple's income was generated from online sales, Kara said, "No evidence has been obtained regarding money laundering or illegal betting crimes. They were showing high invoices and low sales to pay less tax. Since the tax crime is the primary issue, there is no organized crime charge," he said.
'HER MENTAL STATE IS NOT HEALTHY'
Speaking to Haberler.com about Dilan Polat's mental state, Kara said, "Whenever I visit, she is always crying. We talk, but she cries while calling out for her son. She keeps repeating the sentences her son said to her. I do not find her mental state to be very healthy. She speaks with Engin by phone from time to time," he stated.
