Türker İnanoğlu laid to rest

Turkish cinema's 'Mr. Cinema' Türker İnanoğlu has passed away at the age of 88 due to health issues he had been experiencing for some time.

Türker İnanoğlu, who was hospitalized on Tuesday, April 2, could not be saved despite all medical interventions.

A ceremony was held for İnanoğlu this morning at the TİM Show Center.

İlker İnanoğlu said the following in his eulogy for his father:

"He was a very perfectionist man. Since I was 18, I took him to America due to health reasons. We went to America again recently for surgery. We arrived at the hotel, got in the elevator, and he tried to press the button. I said, 'Father, leave that to me,' he wanted to do everything himself. He was a very stern father; I still felt like a child in front of him. I thought the pressure on me would lift when he passed away, but I was wrong. It is very difficult... Father, I love you very much."

'HE WAS HARDWORKING AND DISCIPLINED'

The master's daughter, Zeynep İnanoğlu Özdemir, said, "My father would not entrust the matters he cared about to anyone. He planned today himself as well. He had thought I would be abroad. We went over everything several times. All these plans do not reduce the pain being felt. He was that kind of person; he was in command of the details. He was hardworking and disciplined.

Although he did not show his emotions, he was extremely sentimental. He was incredibly devoted to his work and his colleagues. He touched many lives and left behind many works. He would have been very happy to see you all here today. It is exactly the farewell he wanted. Dear father, if you can hear me, if you can feel me, I want you to know that I love you very much. I promise that I will do everything in my power to ensure your name and legacy live on with us," she said.

LAID TO REST AMID TEARS

İnanoğlu was laid to rest following the noon prayer held at the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque.

The master director was buried in the family cemetery in Kanlıca amid tears.
