3 people rescued alive from a boat that sank in Karaburun, İzmir
Three people on a boat that sank off the coast of Karaburun, İzmir, were rescued thanks to the rapid intervention of Coast Guard teams.
On the night of Friday, August 8, 2025, a pleasure boat began taking on water off the coast of the Karaburun district of İzmir and faced the danger of sinking.
The 3 people on board the boat were rescued alive thanks to the timely intervention of Coast Guard teams.
A Coast Guard helicopter and two Coast Guard boats were quickly dispatched to the scene.
As a result of the search and rescue operations, the 3 people spotted on the sea surface were brought onto a Coast Guard boat while conscious and were handed over to 112 Emergency Health teams at the Çeşme Coast Guard Pier.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, in a statement on his social media account, congratulated the Coast Guard Command for successfully carrying out the rescue operations and stated that the health status of the rescued individuals is good.
Yerlikaya thanked the rescue teams, saying, "May God be your helper."
