The incident took place while debris from a building that had undergone controlled demolition in the area was being removed with the help of heavy machinery.
Following reports of the collapse, Highway teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. For safety purposes, various signs were placed on the street, and traffic was restricted to a single lane. Teams have begun work to repair the damage to the bridge.
While security measures have been increased in the area following the incident, authorities are taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety of the bridge.
