Fire in Çanakkale spreads to hospital
A fire that started on agricultural land in Çanakkale spread to a forested area, grew in size, and approached the Çanakkale State Hospital. Teams are working intensely to bring the fire under control.
A fire that broke out on agricultural land in the village of Sarıcaeli in Çanakkale's central district spread rapidly to a forested area due to the wind. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Regional Forestry Directorate, fire department, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the region to intervene.
The intensity of the wind in the affected areas is making it difficult to bring the flames under control. Teams are intervening from the air with helicopters and firefighting aircraft, and from the ground with fire trucks and heavy machinery to extinguish the fire.
It has been reported that the flames have approached the Çanakkale State Hospital. There have been no casualties so far, but teams are continuing their efforts to prevent the fire from spreading further.
