Fire on the Bulgarian border advances toward Edirne
A forest fire that broke out on the Turkish border near Bulgaria's Lesovo border region has reached the border villages of Edirne. Numerous teams have been dispatched to the area.
A fire that broke out in Bulgaria continues to advance through the forested area along the Turkey-Bulgaria border line.
The flames, which have reached alarming proportions at times due to the wind, have reached the borders of Kalkansöğüt village in Edirne's Lalapaşa district.

Following reports from residents living in the village, numerous teams were dispatched to the region from Edirne.
Firefighting crews on the Bulgarian side are continuing their efforts in the area where the border fences are located.

Forestry management, AFAD, and fire department teams, having taken precautions to prevent the fire from reaching the village, are standing by along the border line.
