He shot thinking it was a wild boar, causing his father's death
In the Bozdoğan district of Aydın, a man caused the death of his 70-year-old father after shooting him, mistaking him for a wild boar while keeping watch for boars.
The incident occurred in the Kazandere neighborhood. According to the information obtained, 70-year-old K.D. had left his position while keeping watch for wild boars with his son C.D. (37) in his own fig orchard to use the restroom.
When K.D. returned to the orchard a short while later, he was allegedly shot with a rifle by his son, who mistook him for a wild boar. The elderly man, who was seriously injured, was taken to the Bozdoğan Rasim Menteşe State Hospital by medical teams called to the scene.
Despite all interventions by doctors at the hospital, K.D. could not be saved and lost his life. C.D. was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams.
While the man who lost his life was laid to rest in the Hisar neighborhood, C.D., who shot his father, was arrested by judicial authorities after his procedures at the gendarmerie and sent to prison.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
