Number of detainees rises to 7 in the murder of 17-year-old Eyüp Arıcı in Gaziantep
In the case regarding the fight between two groups in Gaziantep that resulted in the death of 17-year-old Eyüp Arıcı, the number of detainees has risen to 7 following the arrest of another individual who was being tried without detention and had an outstanding arrest warrant issued in the previous hearing.
In Gaziantep, on February 9, 2025, between two groups afight broke out, and after Eyüp Arıcı lost his life, the 3rdhhearing of the case openedThe third hearingwas held at the Gaziantep 1st High Criminal Court.The hearing
was attended by detained defendants E.A.K. and A.S.P.,as well as minor detained defendantsK.B., M.F.K., M.T.Y., and İ.E.Ö., along with Eyüp Arıcı'sfamily.Arıcı's family and the lawyers for the parties attended. The hearing was held behind closed doorsdue to the presence ofdefendants under the age of 18.The court panel
decided to continue the detention of theimprisoned defendants, while U.E.M., who was being tried without detention and had an outstanding arrest warrantfrom the previous hearing, was also arrested. The court adjourned the hearing to February 12.
THE INCIDENT
In the Şehitkamil district, while Eyüp Arıcı was with his twin brother and a friend, an argument broke out with a group, and EyEyüp Arıcı lost his lifeafter being stabbedin the heart andvarious parts ofhis body.
The court panel, at the previous hearingin the hearing, regarding U.E.M., who was later included in the case andalleged to have acted together with the 6 defendants on the day of the incident,the court issued a warrant for their forcible appearance and adjourned the case to December 19, 2025.
