Six-year-old child drowns in the sea
A 6-year-old child who came to Yalova to visit his aunt for the holidays has drowned in the sea.
According to the information received, 6-year-old Eyüp Hüseyin Y., who came to Yalova from Istanbul for the holidays to visit his aunt along with his 8-year-old brother, went to Akasya Beach together. Around 16:30, while his aunt was not in the water, Eyüp Hüseyin Y., who was playing in the sea with his brother, disappeared from sight after a while. The child, who was pulled from the water unconscious by other citizens swimming in the sea, could not be resuscitated despite all interventions performed by the 112 emergency medical team at the scene and at the Yalova Training and Research Hospital.
The lifeless body of Eyüp Hüseyin Y. was later brought to the hospital morgue. The grieving mother and father, who arrived at the hospital morgue from Istanbul, struggled to stand.
On the other hand, an 8-year-old child also drowned in the sea at the beach operated by the Yalova Municipality last June. Following the incident, the lack of lifeguards at the beach drew significant backlash on social media.
