Tragic news regarding health technician struck by car
In the Edremit district of Balıkesir, a 21-year-old health technician lost her life after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the highway.
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred near the Zeytinli Smart Intersection on the İzmir-Çanakkale highway. 21-year-old Patient and Elderly Care Technician Özlem Korkmaz was struck by a speeding car while crossing the intersection and died tragically.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. As a result of meticulous work by the Zeytinli Police Station under the Edremit District Gendarmerie Command and JASAT detectives, the vehicle was identified and the driver was apprehended shortly after.
The driver, identified as M.Y., was referred to the Edremit Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following his interrogation and was arrested. The death of the young health technician has caused great sorrow for her family, relatives, and the district.
