Cem Gürdeniz: Iran's resistance has broken the will of the hegemony

Retired Rear Admiral Cem Gürdeniz shared his assessments regarding Iran's position in the region and the shift in global power balances in a post on his social media account.

Gürdeniz recalled that since February 28, Iran has faced military pressures, color revolution scenarios, regime change projects, and threats of fragmentation, noting that it has now risen to the position of a country that defines the framework of the negotiating table and sits at the center of the regional equation.

Emphasizing that the Memorandum of Understanding being conducted between the US and Iran, which he stated has reached the signing stage, is not merely an agreement between two countries, Gürdeniz expressed that this process could be considered a historic turning point that could accelerate the erosion of US hegemony and the transformation in the global power balance.

Touching upon US President Donald Trump in his post, Gürdeniz stated that Trump faces the risk of going down in history as a leader who failed to achieve the desired result from the strategic showdown with Iran.

Reminding that the US has been involved in numerous wars and interventions in different parts of the world since the Second World War, Gürdeniz pointed out that the developments in the current process are creating direct pressure on the American society's economic order, social stability, and welfare level.

Stating that the impact of events in Palestine on global public opinion and the reflections of the tension around the Strait of Hormuz on energy markets directly affect the daily lives of the American people, Gürdeniz assessed that this situation could lead to greater questioning of the support given to Israel within the US public.

Expressing that the political geography in West Asia is being reshaped, Gürdeniz noted that the petrodollar order, energy geopolitics, and ethnic and sectarian fault lines have entered a new era, and that radical changes are taking place in regional power balances.

Gürdeniz also added his YouTube program titled "Iran's resistance has broken the will of the hegemony" to his post.

At the end of his post, Gürdeniz underscored that the entire world, including Turkey, should draw the necessary lessons from the social solidarity, national resistance, and determined stance against external pressures seen in the Iranian example, emphasizing that in the process of the new world order taking shape, the issue should be approached not only in terms of power balances but also from a perspective of historical responsibility.
