Özlem Gürses: They are not Turkey's role models

Journalist Özlem Gürses evaluated the case of businesswoman and influencer Dilan Polat, who has been in the spotlight for some time over allegations of money laundering, from a different perspective. Gürses stated, "Young people have fallen into depression from watching such wealthy individuals on social media, and most importantly, they are ashamed of themselves. These people are definitely not Turkey's role models."

Özlem Gürses: They are not Turkey's role models

Following Muhammed Yakut's 'money laundering' allegations, Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat continue to remain a hot topic.

Making a statement after the allegations, Dilan Polat had said, "We are people who bring foreign currency into the country. Everyone is being audited, rest assured. If you are being audited, I am being audited a hundred times over, rest assured. You cannot belittle my state in this way; my state audits everyone, my beloved state."

'YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE FALLEN INTO DEPRESSION'

Journalist Özlem Gürses made striking remarks about Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat, who are on Turkey's agenda, without naming them directly.

"Young people have fallen into depression from watching such wealthy individuals on social media, and most importantly, they are ashamed of themselves," said Gürses, adding the following:

"A segment of our young friends has started to think that there is nothing more important in life than earning money. The saddest part is that they have come to the conclusion that education is not a valid currency. Unfortunately, we are being exposed to the projections of dark worlds and the money laundering economy on social media.

In a country like Turkey, the more risks you take, the more money you earn. Yes, this is true, but these people are definitely not Turkey's role models."
