Appointment to Boğaziçi University from Ensar Foundation: He was a former deputy mayor of Pendik Municipality

Boğaziçi University administration has appointed Vahap Doğan, a member of the board of trustees of the Ensar Foundation—which came to public attention following the sexual abuse of 45 children in Karaman—as deputy secretary general.

According to a report by Mehmet Baran Kılıç from Politikyol, Doğan also served as a deputy mayor at the AKP-run Pendik Municipality between 2019 and 2024.

The Boğaziçi University administration has previously hired many individuals who worked in AKP-run municipalities. Uğur Kandemir, who worked at İSKİ when the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality was under AKP control, was appointed as deputy secretary general at Boğaziçi University.

Not the first name appointed from AKP municipalities

Bahattin Toptaş, who worked at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), was made a branch manager at Boğaziçi. Abdülbasit Körük, who worked at İSKİ, was also hired at Boğaziçi. These three individuals were 'transferred' to the AKP-run Hatay Municipality about two months ago.

Furthermore, Nihat Mutlu, who served as a deputy mayor at Beykoz Municipality during the AKP era, was recently appointed as the Head of the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs at Boğaziçi University, and Muhammed Acar, who served as the private secretary manager at the AKP-run Beykoz Municipality, was appointed as the branch manager of support services.

Ramazan Kesik, who began working at İSKİ during the AKP era, was also appointed as the Head of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports.
