A new operation has been carried out as part of a corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). Acting on allegations of irregularities in certain tenders conducted within the Road Maintenance and Repair Branch Directorate and the Electronic Systems Branch Directorate, teams issued detention warrants for 13 individuals.
A new operation has been conducted as part of an ongoing corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). Within the scope of the investigation, work was initiated following allegations of "rigging tenders" in certain tenders carried out by the IMM Road Maintenance and Repair Branch Directorate and the Electronic Systems Branch Directorate.
Police teams, acting on the instructions of the prosecutor's office, carried out an operation to apprehend the suspects for whom detention warrants had been issued.
DETENTION WARRANTS FOR 13 PEOPLE
It was learned that detention warrants were issued for a total of 13 people as part of the investigation. While 12 suspects were taken into custody during the operations, it was reported that efforts are ongoing to apprehend 1 person who is said to be at large.
TENDERS UNDER REVIEW
It was stated that the investigation is being conducted based on allegations that irregularities were committed and that there was interference in certain tenders held within the IMM.
