Date set: Özgür Özel pushes the button for 'New Party'
The founding petition for the political movement to be established under the leadership of CHP's elected Chairman Özgür Özel will be submitted to the Ministry of Interior on Monday, July 27.
Following the "absolute nullity" (cancellation) decision regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, the Court of Cassation's failure to rule on the file before the judicial recess has brought about a historic rupture in Ankara. The slogan frequently voiced by CHP leader Özgür Özel, "We will either find a way or we will make a way," is becoming clear. The founding petition for the new political movement to be established under the leadership of Özgür Özel will be submitted to the Ministry of Interior on Monday, July 27.
COURT OF CASSATION'S JUDICIAL RECESS CLARIFIED THE PROCESS
The decision by the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice to cancel the congress reached the Court of Cassation 56 days later, on Friday, July 17. The Court of Cassation's failure to address the file before entering the judicial recess caused Özgür Özel and his team to finalize their separation calendar.
It has been reported that the name of the newly established political movement will be "New Party".
Information received suggests that the Founders' Board will consist primarily of current members of parliament.
LAST SPEECH AT THE CHP PODIUM TOMORROW: THE TURNING POINT OF FAREWELL
Before the submission of the founding petition, Özgür Özel will take the podium for the last time in his capacity as chairman at the CHP Group Meeting to be held tomorrow (Tuesday, July 21). It is expected that Özel will address the legal dimensions of the absolute nullity process and announce the reasons for the parting of ways at this meeting.
Özgür Özel has prepared an intensive meeting schedule to come together with all the party's staff for the last time until Monday, when the petition will be submitted:
July 21: A joint evaluation with the elected CHP provincial chairmen following the group meeting.
July 22: He will chair the CHP Party Assembly (PM) and Central Executive Board (MYK) meetings for the last time.
During the week: A strategy meeting will be held with the deputies acting in concert with him.
TBMM ARITHMETIC TO BE SHAKEN: AT LEAST 70 DEPUTIES TO CROSS OVER
The establishment of the new party will completely change the balances not only within the CHP but also under the roof of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
In the first phase, at least 70 deputies elected from the current CHP lists are expected to resign and join the ranks of the "New Party". This move means the formation of a new group in Parliament and the rewriting of parliamentary balances.
Following the official application on July 27, the party's management staff, organizational structure, and the parliamentary group formation calendar will be officially shared with the public.
