DEM Party denies Yüksel Arslan's statements
The DEM Party stated that the remarks made by IYI Party Ankara MP Yüksel Arslan on social media do not reflect the truth and argued that these claims are intended to increase social tension.
The DEM Party issued a statement regarding the debates surrounding the "National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission" established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). In the statement, it was expressed that the social media posts by IYI Party Ankara MP Yüksel Arslan were baseless and that these posts were intended to incite the public.
The statement included the following remarks: "The claims voiced by Yüksel Arslan on social media are completely fabricated and untrue. These claims are part of a deliberate disinformation campaign conducted over issues that the DEM Party has never brought to the agenda in the Commission. The so-called 'list of demands' is entirely a product of imagination, and its purpose is to increase social tension and create polarization in society."
The DEM Party stated that such disinformation attempts are intended to overshadow democratic politics and mask the public's real agenda. The statement said, "Instead of the Commission's constructive work and efforts for dialogue, intentionally produced fake content and baseless news are being highlighted. Such provocations are a major example of irresponsibility against the will of the Parliament and the common future of society."
The DEM Party emphasized that they will continue to defend pluralistic democracy by remaining committed to the principles of peace, equality, and justice. The statement concluded with the following words: "Those who try to block our path with fake agendas full of lies will be remembered before history for the ambushes set against peace. Our real agenda is the brotherhood of peoples and lasting peace. No power can overshadow our progress on this path with artificial polemics."
On the other hand, IYI Party Ankara MP Yüksel Arslan had claimed in a post on his social media account that the DEM Party had demanded the granting of autonomy to Kurds from the Commission.
