Today, the AKP's 8th Ordinary Grand Congress was held with high participation at the Ankara Sports Hall (Ankara Arena). The change process initiated within the AKP following the May 14 elections and the March 31 local elections has been completed with this congress. The new members of the AKP's Central Decision and Administrative Board (MKYK) have also been clarified.
At the congress, 75 principal and 35 substitute MKYK members were elected. Additionally, elections were held for the 15-member Central Disciplinary Board (MDK), the 3-member Intra-Party Democracy and Arbitration Board, and the 5-member Political Virtue and Ethics Board. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the AKP's new vision at the congress and delivered a speech in the nature of a manifesto that will guide the party.
NAMES WHO COULD NOT KEEP THEIR SEAT IN THE MKYK
Following the congress, while 39 changes were made to the AKP MKYK, 36 names continued in their duties. Among the names who lost their seats on the list are prominent figures such as Adnan Günnar, Ahmet Arslan, Ali Demirel, Ali Karakaş, and Atakan Yılmaz. Furthermore, names such as Betül Altunsoy, Cem Duran Uzun, Eyüp Gökhan Özekin, and Hasan Sert are also among those removed from the MKYK.
NEW NAMES JOINED THE MKYK
Following these changes, the new names joining the MKYK list draw attention. Names such as Abdülkadir Develi, Abdurahman Akyüz, Ayşe Keşir, Cengiz Tokmak, and Halit Yerbakan have become part of Erdoğan's new administration. Additionally, former football player Mesut Özil became one of the notable names to enter the AKP's MKYK.
36 NAMES CONTINUE IN THEIR DUTIES
The 36 names who retained their seats on the AKP MKYK are familiar faces from previous administrations. Among these names are prominent figures such as Ahmet Bilal Kıymaz, Ali İhsan Yavuz, Çiğdem Karaaslan, Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, Hamza Dağ, Hayati Yazıcı, and Ömer Çelik. It is anticipated that these names will shape the party's future policy.
