Tolga Kocabıyık, the CHP Youth Branch President for the Karacasu district of Aydın, has resigned from his post and his party membership.
CHP Karacasu Youth Branch President Tolga Kocabıyık announced his resignation in a post on his social media account. In his statement, Kocabıyık used the following expressions:
"Due to the recent divisiveness within the party, as well as the exclusionary, oppressive, and hostile attitudes of the deputies, I am resigning from my position as CHP Karacasu Youth Branch President and from my party membership."
Claims that CHP Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu will resign from her party to join the AKP have begun to be discussed in political circles. It is also alleged that, in addition to Çerçioğlu, some district mayors and municipal council members will resign in a similar manner.
