FIRST STATEMENT FROM THE CHP

Following the detention of Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu, CHP Party Spokesperson Müslim Sarı made a written statement on his social media account.

"THE WILL OF THE VOTER IS BEING FURTHER DAMAGED EVERY DAY"

In his statement, Müslim Sarı said, "The will of the voter is being further damaged every day. This morning, our Etimesgut Municipality and our Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu became the target of the same mentality."

CHP spokesperson Müslim Sarı used the following expressions in his post:

The will of the voter is being further damaged every day.

This morning, our Etimesgut Municipality and our Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu became the target of the same mentality.

The government must immediately put an end to operations that systematically target only CHP-run municipalities.

Detention pending trial should not be turned into a tool for punishment; trial without detention should be the basis.

The law must be applied equally to everyone, and the will expressed by the nation at the ballot box must be respected.

It is imperative that judicial processes be carried out in accordance with the principle of the rule of law, away from political debates, and by observing the presumption of innocence.

We will continue to follow the process carefully to ensure that justice is served without delay and that the truth is revealed in its entirety.
