Gürban's vote on the Framework Law revealed as he is expected to join the AKP
It has emerged that Gaziantep MP Mehmet Mustafa Gürban, who resigned from the IYI Party and is expected to join the AKP, cast a 'no' vote on the Framework Law.
While new party memberships are expected at the "25th Anniversary Special Rally" to be held as part of the AKP's founding anniversary, the vote cast by Gaziantep MP Mehmet Mustafa Gürban, who is stated to be among those names, in one of the recent votes in Parliament has drawn attention.
HE VOTED NO
It is stated that Gürban, who resigned from the IYI Party yesterday, is among the names who will be pinned with an AKP badge by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. However, it has emerged that Gürban cast a "no" vote in the "Framework Law" vote discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly on Monday, August 10.
563 deputies participated in the vote in question. In the vote, 467 "yes," 87 "no," and 7 "abstention" votes were cast. While all AKP deputies voted "yes" for the regulation, Gürban's "no" vote sparked debate on social media due to the expectation of his joining the AKP.
In his statement announcing that he had left the IYI Party, Gürban had used the following expressions: "I am resigning from my IYI Party membership due to necessity. I would like to thank everyone who respects the organizational law in the presence of our esteemed Chairman and Founding Chairman. I respectfully submit to the public that I will continue my duty under the roof of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey with the same determination and a stronger will in the coming period."
The fact that Gürban is set to join the AKP, which supports the regulation he voted against a short time ago, has been evaluated by the opposition and social media users through the lens of "political consistency.".
