He had read the Dolmabahçe Agreement: Statement on the 'solution process' from AKP's Efkan Ala

The handshake between MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and DEM Party deputies at the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly continues to maintain its place on the agenda.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement that "Bahçeli's handshake with the DEM Party Co-Chairs is an important step" and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder's expression of gratitude to Erdoğan and Bahçeli have brought claims of a 'new solution process' back to the agenda.

"A SOLUTION PROCESS IS NOT ON OUR TABLE"

AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala made statements regarding the claims of a solution process, which have not fallen off the public and political agenda.

"A solution process is not on our table," said Ala, adding:

"The problem is different, and the remedy to be found for different problems is also different. We do not have to do the same thing every time. A Kurdish-language channel broadcasts 24 hours a day. These have been overcome. At a certain point in those processes, the Middle East was devastated. If Turkey had not carried out those reforms, it would have succumbed to projects that wanted to turn it into Iraq and Syria."

NEW CONSTITUTION

Touching upon the new constitution debates, Ala said, "Let us set up the table. Let us agree to discuss, talk, and come together. Everyone will express their views there."

NORMALIZATION IN POLITICS

Emphasizing that dialogues are very important for normalization steps in politics, Ala said, "Even if the ideas are 180 degrees apart, these are very important."

Efkan Ala, who served as Minister of Interior during the Solution Process, was among the figures who announced the Dolmabahçe Agreement, an unforgettable stage of the process.
