İYİ Party Leader Dervişoğlu reacts to 'framework law': Notable remarks on Treaty of Sèvres
Müsavat Dervişoğlu strongly criticized the fact that the bill on National Solidarity and Social Integration is being discussed on the anniversary of the Treaty of Sèvres.
The Bill on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration is coming to the agenda of the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey tomorrow. It is expected that the Parliament will go into recess after the bill, known as the 'framework law', is enacted.
İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu expressed his reaction regarding the discussion date of the legal regulation via his social media account. Dervişoğlu drew attention to the fact that the proposal coincides with August 10, the anniversary of the Treaty of Sèvres, and used harsh language towards the government.
Dervişoğlu included the following words in his post:
“What is the source of your insistence on forcing the Parliament to work outside its usual schedule to complete this specific law by August 10, the anniversary of Sèvres?
To whom are you sending a message? Do you think this nation has fallen into a death sleep?”
The proposal, which stands out as one of the most important items on the agenda at the end of the legislative year in which the Parliament has been working since July 1, has sparked controversy.
