Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's first post after his defeat
According to the vote count results, Özgür Özel has become the new chairman of the CHP. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who left the convention hall before the second round concluded, congratulated Özgür Özel on his success.
Özel received 812 votes from the delegates, while Kılıçdaroğlu received 536. Compared to the first round, Özel received 130 more votes.
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who ended the high-tension night with a loss, shared a post on his social media account congratulating Özgür Özel.
Kılıçdaroğlu stated the following:
I have carried the legacy of our Great Leader Atatürk with honor until today. And today, with the decision made by our convention delegates, I am bidding farewell to the position of Chairman. I thank everyone who has supported our struggle until today. I congratulate our new Chairman, Özgür Özel, who has been elected to the position of Chairman, and wish him success.
