The statement noted that within this scope, all types of meetings, protest marches, and press statements have been banned for 5 days between March 21 and 25.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Protest actions that began following the detention of IMM President and expected CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu have spread across the country. Outside of Istanbul, the largest protests took place in Izmir and Ankara.

Following this, the Izmir Governor's Office announced in a statement today that holding meetings, protest marches, and press statements has been banned for 5 days. After Izmir, the Ankara Governor's Office also declared a 5-day protest ban.

Following Istanbul, Izmir, and Ankara, a "ban" decision has now been taken for Manisa as well.
