Minimum wage protest from the SOL Party
The SOL Party İzmir Provincial Organization held a protest to react to the minimum wage negotiations.
The SOL Party İzmir Provincial Organization held a protest with the slogan, "The AKP is imposing misery on laborers with the minimum wage."
First, a march was held from the party building to the front of the Türkan Saylan Cultural Center in Alsancak. A press statement was read following the march.
"THERE IS NO OTHER WAY BUT TO STRUGGLE"
According to BirGün's report, Nuray Beyenç, one of the SOL Party İzmir Provincial Spokespersons, who read the press statement, said, "The minimum wage negotiations once again reveal that the demand for a humane life and the greed for more exploitation cannot be reconciled. The minimum wage negotiations show that greedy capital has no other purpose than to impose misery on laborers. There is no other way but for workers, farmers, retirees, and all laborers to unite and struggle to live humanely and win our rights."
"THESE WAGES MEAN MISERY"
Beyenç stated, "Setting a fabricated inflation target as the threshold for the minimum wage and determining the minimum wage only once a year means twelve months of robbery and misery," and added: "When it is taken into account that the minimum wage has turned into the average wage, this means misery for all laborers. It is clear that those who govern for a handful of exploiters cannot determine a wage that will make laborers smile. As workers, farmers, retirees, and laborers, let us unite and win our minimum wage right for a humane life."

"A WELFARE SHARE MUST BE CALCULATED"
Beyenç listed the SOL Party's demands regarding the minimum wage as follows:
- The minimum wage should be raised to a level that ensures a humane life as stated in the constitution, and all losses caused by inflation should be compensated month by month.
- A welfare share must be guaranteed for all employees and retirees from the economy that grows with the labor, blood, and life of workers.
- The anti-democratic commission structure, which tries to legitimize the needs of greedy capital under the guise of pluralism, must be changed, and a transition must be made to a real collective bargaining structure where minimum wage earners, who make up half of the employees, can make their voices heard directly.
- A wealth tax should be collected from bosses who thrive on monopoly profits, incentives, and tax exemptions.
- The wages of retirees who are condemned to hunger should be determined in such a way that the lowest pension is equal to the minimum wage.
