Remarkable response from Feti Yıldız to the Selahattin Demirtaş question

MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız attended the press conference held by AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler regarding the legislative proposal, alongside other MHP Group Deputy Chairmen. Yıldız, who played a key role in the preparation of the proposal, answered journalists' questions after the meeting.

"THE PROPOSAL WAS SUBMITTED WITH OVER 360 SIGNATURES"

Pointing out that the new legislative proposal was submitted with the signatures of over 360 deputies, Feti Yıldız emphasized that they conducted a collaborative process with the AK Party. Yıldız stated, "The process of the proposal in the commission to date was detailed during the press conference. The articles of the law are quite clear and understandable. I believe it will achieve its intended goals once implemented. It will enter into force after the National Security Council decision is published in the Official Gazette. This is an important step," he assessed.

"THERE HAS NOT BEEN SUCH A LAW IN RECENT YEARS"

Regarding a question about the process of the new proposal in the General Assembly of Parliament, Yıldız said, "Various opinions will of course be expressed in the General Assembly, but we expect it to pass with over 400 votes in favor. We are submitting it with over 360 signatures. Such a comprehensive legislative proposal has not been seen for a long time."

RESPONSE TO THE SELAHATTİN DEMİRTAŞ QUESTION

When asked by journalists, "Should we expect any development regarding Devlet Bahçeli's previous statement about Selahattin Demirtaş returning to his home, and whether the decisions of the ECHR and the Constitutional Court will be implemented?" Feti Yıldız replied, "Wait. The issue of complying with the decisions of the Constitutional Court and the ECHR is already in the report."

"CANNOT BENEFIT EXCEPT FOR HİZBULLAH AND PKK"

The question of whether organizations other than the PKK, KCK, and structures affiliated with these organizations would be included in the legislative proposal was raised. In response to a question referring to a motion submitted by HÜDAPAR deputies in June, Yıldız said, "This proposal was prepared for the PKK, KCK, and affiliated structures. DHKP-C or Hizbullah cannot benefit from this regulation."

CONSTITUTIONALITY OF THE PROPOSAL

Yıldız also addressed assessments regarding whether the legislative proposal would violate the principle of equality. "The Parliament, that is, the legislative body, has the discretion to classify crimes and determine penal norms. This situation is not contrary to the principle of equality. There are decisions of the Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights on this matter," he stated.

Regarding the claim from the İYİ Party front that they signed without seeing the text, Feti Yıldız responded by saying, "They saw it, everyone saw it."
