Resignations continue in YRP: Mayor resigns from the party
Ali Aydemir, who was elected mayor from the New Welfare Party (YRP) in the March 31 local elections, has resigned from his party along with the municipal council members.
Ali Aydemir, who was elected mayor of the Yıldız town in Sivas with 35.33 percent of the vote from the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) in the March 31 local elections, announced that he has resigned from his party along with the municipal council members.
In a statement on his social media account, Aydemir noted that they had reached the decision to resign after a detailed evaluation, stating the following:
“As a result of the decision we have made after considering every detail and the necessity we have seen, I, as the mayor, and my municipal council members have resigned from the New Welfare Party. We will continue to serve our municipality as independents. May God be our helper and supporter.”
KASIM GÜLPINAR HAD ALSO RESIGNED FROM THE PARTY
In recent days, following the resignation of Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kasım Gülpınar from the party, Eyyübiye Council member Mehmet Alak and four Viranşehir Municipal Council members also stepped down from their positions.
