YENİ Party Spokesperson Zeynel Emre responded to the allegations regarding Chairman Özgür Özel that appeared in the Sabah newspaper through a statement on his social media account. Emre stated that the allegations in question do not reflect the truth and described the reports as an "assassination of reputation."
In the statement, the reports reflected in the press regarding the party bus were also rejected. Emre stated that the bus was purchased with donations and that the invoices for this are held by the party.
The allegations directed at our Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel, which were included in a statement leaked to the Sabah newspaper today, are completely false and a clear slander. Those who make, tell, and publish this lie are part of a clear assassination of reputation. Furthermore, the allegations regarding our party bus that were reflected in the press yesterday are also irrational. The bus was purchased with the nation's donations, and all its invoices are available at our party. We will take all necessary steps to ensure that whoever is behind this dirty attempt is held accountable.
In the report in the Sabah newspaper, it was alleged that in an additional statement purportedly given to the prosecutor's office by Emir Sarıgül, who is under arrest as part of the investigation conducted into the Sarıgül family, his father Mustafa Sarıgül had given a total of 350 thousand dollars to Özgür Özel.
With Emre's statement, the party rejected both the allegations directed at Özel and the reports regarding the party bus, announcing that the necessary steps would be taken regarding the process.
