Support march for Gaza held in Kadıköy

Members and supporters of the Palestine Action Committee gathered in front of the Süreyya Opera House in Kadıköy to hold a march aimed at drawing attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Condemning Israel's attacks on Palestine, the group carried banners reading "We stand with Gaza, which resists genocide, hunger, and blockade" and chanted various slogans.

During the march, participants protested Israel's obstruction of aid supplies entering Gaza by making noise with pots and pans, walking from the Süreyya Opera House to the Church Square.

Speaking on behalf of the Palestine Action Committee, Sacide Uras addressed the tragedy unfolding in the Gaza Strip during a press statement. Uras stated that more than 60 thousand people have lost their lives and many have been displaced due to the blockade imposed by Israel. She further added, "Palestinians are losing their lives not only to bombs and bullets but also due to hunger."

The statement noted that Israel has imposed a total blockade on Gaza, preventing the entry of basic humanitarian aid such as food and medicine. It was stated that at least 150 people have died of starvation to date due to this blockade, and this number is expected to rise.

CALL FOR EMBARGO

The committee criticized Turkey's relations with Israel, emphasizing that a full and absolute embargo must be imposed on Israel for the Palestinian people to achieve their freedom. It was also stated that Israel must be held accountable for the crimes it has committed.

DETENTION DURING THE MARCH

Following the march, one of the participants was detained by the police. While no official statement was made regarding the reason for the detention, the activists reacted to the situation.
