Turkish Parliament to convene on Israel agenda

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly will hold a closed session on October 8 regarding Israel's attacks and developments in the region.

During the session, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler will provide detailed briefings to members of parliament on the situation in the region.

JOURNALISTS AND AUDIENCE WILL NOT BE ADMITTED

According to the announcement by TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, the closed session will be held in accordance with Article 59 of the TBMM Rules of Procedure.

In this context, Israel's attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, the spread of conflicts to the region, the measures taken by Turkey, and the risk of war in the region will be addressed.

Due to the closed session, no audience or journalists will be admitted to the General Assembly Hall. Furthermore, the rooms adjacent to the General Assembly hall will be kept closed until the session concludes.

MINUTES TO BE PUBLISHED AFTER 10 YEARS

The minutes and summaries of the closed session may be published after 10 years in accordance with TBMM rules. Following the briefing, the closed session will conclude, and the TBMM General Assembly will continue to discuss the items on its agenda in an open session.
