What is on the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly for the new week?

Following the completion of budget negotiations and the adoption of the draft law regarding civil servants, the General Assembly of the TBMM had decided not to convene.

The General Assembly of the TBMM will begin its weekly work on Tuesday, January 7, by discussing the Draft Law on Amendments to the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law and Certain Other Laws.

According to the proposal, family medicine services will be free of charge, excluding services provided to foreigners, traditional and complementary medicine practices provided outside working hours, and special-purpose reports determined by the Ministry.

With the proposal, which includes regulations aimed at conducting more clinical research, the co-payment for physician and dentist examinations in outpatient treatment will be 20 liras.

The 5-point insurance premium discount provided for disability, old-age, and death insurance premiums that private sector employers pay to the Social Security Institution (SGK) will be applied as 4 points.

The 5-point discount to be provided on disability, old-age, and death insurance premiums for workplaces in the manufacturing sector will continue until December 31, 2026. The President will be authorized to extend this period until December 31, 2027.

Those whose insurance coverage began before December 31, 2008, with a loss of working capacity between 40 percent and 49 percent, will be eligible for an old-age pension provided they have 18 years of insurance coverage and 4 thousand 100 days of premium payments; those with a loss between 50 percent and 59 percent will be eligible provided they have 16 years of insurance coverage and 3 thousand 700 days of premium payments.

REGULATIONS REGARDING THE JUSTICE ACADEMY OF TURKEY

Following the completion of the deliberations on this proposal, the General Assembly will begin discussions on the Draft Law on the Justice Academy of Turkey.

According to this proposal, judges and prosecutors who have effectively completed 8 years in the profession may be appointed to the Academy by the Minister of Justice to serve as faculty members.

A Law Research Center will be established within the Academy. In addition, an Education Board consisting of 18 people will determine the training programs.

Training and education programs for judge and prosecutor assistants, as well as judges and prosecutors, will be free of charge.

The Commission on Researching Violence and Discrimination Against Women will hear from academics from Ankara University.

DEM PARTY'S ÖCALAN TOUR

Meanwhile, the DEM Party delegation will visit the AKP Parliamentary Group tomorrow. The delegation will meet with AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala, Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, and other party officials.

The DEM Party delegation will also meet with Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu at the Future Party Headquarters and Felicity Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan at the Felicity Party Headquarters.

On Tuesday, the DEM Party delegation will visit DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan and New Welfare Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the group meetings of the political parties with groups in Parliament will be held.
