Miners win! Workers' rights to be paid within 15 days
Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi met with Bağımsız Maden-İş executives to discuss the miners' demands. As a result of the meeting, it was announced that the workers' rights would be paid within 15 days.
The Ministry of Interior announced that the meeting between Doruk Madencilik workers, who were continuing their protests in Ankara demanding the payment of their receivables, and their employer concluded with an agreement between the parties.

Bağımsız Maden İş Union President Çakır stated, "All of the workers' rights will be deposited into their accounts within 15 days."

Bağımsız Maden İş Union Organizing Specialist Aksu said, "Our protest is over. Now the celebrations will begin; we invite the people of Ankara to see us off. We have achieved a result that leaves no friend behind; all workers will receive their rights."
'IN A WAY THAT WILL NOT EXCEED MID-MAY'
The lawyer for the Bağımsız Maden İş Union said, "It is planned for the payments to be made in a way that will not exceed the middle of May; we have received guarantees from three separate ministries."
WHAT WERE THE WORKERS' DEMANDS?
Doruk Madencilik workers decided to protest 17 days ago on the grounds that they could not receive their rights. The miners, who marched to Ankara, began a hunger strike 9 days ago. Police intervened against the miners who wanted to march to the Ministry of Interior. The Bağımsız Maden İş Union had listed the miners' demands as follows:
Payment of wage receivables that have not been paid for months,
Payment of severance rights to all workers who were unfairly dismissed before and after the TMSF (Savings Deposit Insurance Fund) takeover,
Removal of the unpaid leave practice currently imposed on working employees without their consent,
Creation of a safe working environment in accordance with OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) rules,
Reinstatement of workers who were dismissed for being members of our union and leading the struggle,
Nationalization of the mine to ensure job security.
