18 things you will no longer be able to do with Google Assistant starting at the end of this month
It has been revealed that Google Assistant will soon lose 18 features. Starting January 26, features that are currently used and active will be removed.
Google stated that the change will affect Assistant but will not affect Assistant with Bard.
SOME GOOGLE ASSISTANT FEATURES ARE BEING REMOVED
According to the blog post announced by Google, nearly 20 Google Assistant features will be removed. So, what will these be? Here are the things you will not be able to do after the end of this month:
-Full Assistant access from the Google Search bar. Non-search queries such as “turn off the lights” or “send a message” will no longer be possible here.
-Opening and controlling audiobooks on Google Play Books with your voice.
-Setting or using media alarms, music alarms, or radio alarms on Google Assistant-enabled devices.
-Accessing or managing your cookbook, transferring recipes from device to device, playing an instructional recipe video, or viewing step-by-step recipes.
-Managing timers on Smart Displays and Speakers.
-Using your voice to call a device/phone or broadcast a message to your Google Family Group.
-Using your voice to send emails, video messages, or audio messages.
-Rescheduling an event on Google Calendar with your voice.
-Using the App Launcher in Google Assistant driving mode on Google Maps for reading and sending messages, making calls, and controlling media.
-Scheduling or listening to previously scheduled Family Bell announcements.
-Giving a command to meditate with Calm.
-Voice control for activities will no longer be available on Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 devices.
-Viewing your sleep summaries will only be possible on Google Smart Displays.
-Calls made from speakers and Smart Displays will not appear with caller ID unless you use Duo.
-Viewing estimates for “commute” time on Smart Displays.
-Checking personal travel itineraries by voice.
-Asking for information about your contacts.
-Performing certain actions by voice such as sending payments, making reservations, or posting to social media.
